Deepak Hooda help Rajasthan Royals to beat DD in 6th match of IPL 2015

Though Tim Southee hit the last boundary for Rajasthan Royals to win the sixth match of 2015 IPL, but actual hero of the match was Deepak Hooda who slammed 54 runs in 25 balls in a big run chase of 185 against Delhi Daredevils. Hence Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Daredevils by 3 wickets to register their second win in the competition whereas it was consecutive 2nd lost for DD team.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and asked Delhi to set a target for them. DD openers Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer provided firing start to the team and they added 45 runs in 4.3 overs. Pravin Tambe dismissed Agarwal in the fifth over and Delhi Daredevils captain came to crease. JP Duminy and Iyer started to play sensible innings. Both batsmen added 48 runs for the second wicket partnership.

Shreyas Iyer returned pavilion after scoring 40 runs in 30 balls. After his dismissal, destructive middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh came to bat and he started to play his shoots. Yuvi couldn’t play more than 17 balls in this inning but he slammed 2 big sixes in this short 27 runs inning that clearly showed the style of old Yuvraj Singh.

Delhi Daredevils made 184 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Captain JP Duminy made 44 in 38 balls whereas Angelo Mathews scored unbeaten 27 in 14 balls.

In the chase of 185 runs target Rajsthan Royals got good start from openers Sanju Sampson and Ajinkya Rahane but RR lost wickets on regular intervals.

At one stage Rajasthan lost 4 wickets on the score of 78 in 11th over and the match was going far away from them. Ajinkya Rahane was stable at one end but Imran Tahir dismissed him in the 16th over when team’s total was 130. All hopes were now on previous match hero Faulkner but he failed this time and made just 17.

Deepak Hooda was hitting the ball cleanly from other end and he complete his 1st IPL fifty in 22 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 3 fours. Tahir dismissed Hooda to take match in the favor of DD but at the end RR got success to beat Delhi Daredevils. On the last ball of the match, Rajasthan was required 3 runs to win the match and Tim Southee hit it for the boundary. Deepak Hooda was awarded man of the match for his match winning innings.
