Though Mumbai Indians have lost seventh match of Indian Premier League 2015 against Kings XI Punjab but their prime spinner Harbhajan Singh won millions of hearts not by his bowling but from his destructive batting. Bhaji scored firing 64 runs in just 24 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes. He tried hard but couldn’t take his team to winning end and MI lost the match by 18 runs.
At one stage Mumbai Indians lost top 6 batsmen on the score of just 59 in 14th over when Harbhajan came to bat. Almost the game was over for Mumbai but Bhaji had different plans and he started to exploit Punjab’s bowling. MI needed another 118 odd runs in just 36 balls spare with four wickets in hand and it was just a formality that KXIP would win it comfortably.
Harbhajan Singh and Jagadeesha Suchith played some glorious shoots that really shocked the crowd as well as the opposition. Bhaji and Suchith added 100 runs for 7th wicket partnership in just 37 balls in which Harbhajan made 64 by hitting six big 6s and five glorious boundaries. Suchith also contributed 34 in 21 balls and hit 2 sixes.
The effort Suchith and Harbhajan showed at the end of innings was really embarrassing for top order batsmen who were completely flopped on Wankhede’s batting track. Before this KXIP made 177 in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Captain George Bailey made 61 in 32 balls with four boundaries and 3 sixes. He was named man of the match for his brilliant innings.
