Australia vs India 2015 world cup semi-final preview, predictions

Two champion teams are going to meet in ICC world cup 2015 semifinal match on 26 March. Defending Champions India to take on world cup favorites Australia in the second semi-final battle at Sydney Cricket Ground. Indian team haven’t lost single match in the competition whereas Australia lost only one match in 2015 world cup against New Zealand.

If you asked anyone before starting of world cup that will India reach in semi-finals and be favorites to win against Australia, nobody would vote for India. But the way Indian side has played cricket in this world cup, it’s incredible. They beat top teams of tournament like South Africa, West Indies and Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals.

They’ve won seven out of seven matches played in the world cup and now eyeing for tomorrow’s big clash against Australia. Indian bowling was really weak before beginning of world cup and India lost test series against Aussies and then failed to beat Australia and England in Tri-series. But in world it’s amazing that bowlers came back strongly and all out all the oppositions that they faced.

Those oppositions include South Africa’s destructive batting line-up and Pakistan, West Indies solid batting lineups. Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami have bowled at some decent pace and line length to disturb opponents. Batting has been strengthen for Indian side and they delivered as well.

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina have scored hundreds in this world cup whereas Dhoni and Rahane have played some valuable knocks at various stages of tournament. So it’s perfect, balanced and in form team India that can beat Australia.

Australian team is playing on their home ground and they are strong to win 2015 world cup. They beat Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan to get into semi-final. Destructive Australia batting line-up includes David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, Michael Clarke, Glenn Maxwell who can turn around the match within 4-5 overs in their favor.

All these Aussies are in good form as well as they scored 400 plus runs and made 300+ scores for 2-3 times. Against Sri Lanka, they made 375 but Australia collapsed against New Zealand and lost 9 wickets on 109 runs score. The good thing is they almost defend that 151 runs target against Kiwis but the worst thing is they might fail to save 375 target in Sri Lanka match.

Hence it’s been a mix up performance for Australia in world cups and it will be interesting how they play tomorrow against unbeaten team India.

Prediction

Well it’s really hard to predict between these two champion teams and it’s almost 50-50 call between Australia and India. But Indian team is bit advance over Australia and Sports Mirchi predicts them to win tomorrow and Indians have 55 percent chances.
