Bangladesh ends 1st test at draw against Pakistan in Khulna

It seems that Bangladesh Cricket has been improving day by day. Not only in the shorter format of the game but also in the longer format as well. First Bangladesh team reached to the 2015 ICC World Cup quarter-final for the first time and then white wash Pakistan in the 3 matches ODI series. Even they didn’t stop here and won T20 game too against Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh. Tigers have been in tremendous form since world cup and now they are showing great cricketing skills in Test cricket as well.

The first test of Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2015 series has ended at draw and the way Bangladesh batsmen played in the second innings of match, it really showed that Bangladesh is now ready to play longer version of cricket very well and can even beat top teams. Pakistani bowlers worked hard for about 76 overs to take the 1st wicket of Bangladesh in second innings.

Bangladeshi openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes built record partnership of 312 runs for the first wicket. This is the highest runs 1st wicket partnership for Bangladesh in test cricket. Zulfiqar Barbar took first wicket of Bangladesh in the 76th over of innings when he dismissed Imrul Kayes. Kayes made 150 runs in 240 balls which his highest score in test cricket.

Tamim Iqbal also played handy innings and hit 206 before getting dismissed by Mohammad Hafeez. He was awarded Man of The match for his brilliant double hundred. Both these players helped Bangladesh to overcome Pakistan’s lead. At the end of Day-5 BAN made 555 runs in 136 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored unbeaten 76 to confirm match ends at draw.

Second Test match is scheduled to begin at 6 May, 2015.
