Though CSK missed two successive IPL seasons 2016 and 2017 due to betting and spot fixing cases, team has got tremendous record in the prestigious T20 league as Chennai played 6 Vivo IPL finals and won 2 IPL trophies as well in first 10 years of Indian Premier League.

Chennai Super Kings Squad for 2019 IPL

CSK team released three players from their 2018 squad for the 12th edition of Vivo Indian Premier League. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be captaining Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2019 just like previous editions of championship.

Mark Wood, Kanishk Seth and Kshitiz Sharma were released by CSK ahead of players auction in December 2018. Chennai bought two players in the auction as they purchased fast bowler Mohit Sharma and batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Faf Du Plessis, Sam Billings, Murali Vijay and Suresh Raina are the prime batsmen in squad.
