England Squad for 2017-18 Ashes Series

England and Wales Cricket Board have revealed the 16-member English squad that will compete against Aussies in 2017-18 Ashes series in Australia. Stylish right handed batsman Joe Root to lead the England team in one of the most popular cricket series beginning from 23rd November.

All-rounder Ben Stokes is appointed the vice-captain of 16-men England team. The national selector James Whitaker told BBC that Stokes had minor fractured in the right hand but he’d be fully fit before the start of toughest tour in the summer.

“A tour of Australia is the ultimate test for our squad. We have provided Joe Root and Trevor Bayliss with a well-balanced squad with options in all areas,” said Whitaker.

The last time England visited Australia for the Ashes in 2013-14 and hosts clinched the series by 5-0. Meanwhile in 2015 Ashes, England again retained the prestigious ashes trophy by 3-2 win over Aussies at the home.

First test of 2017-18 Ashes series will be played at The Gabba in Brisbane from November 23.

Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney to host rest other four test matches.
