FIFA increases winner prize from 1 to 2$ million for women world cup

Federation International de Football Association has incremented the prize money for upcoming Canadian Women’s world cup in 2015.

Women's Fifa world cup 2015 prize money increased to 2 million dollar.

The total increased prize money is 15$ million from last tournament’s 10$ million. Winner of 2015 Women’s FIFA world cup will receive 2$ million with a trophy on July 5.

In 2011 competition winner Japan received 1 million dollar as their prize money. The next women’s fifa world cup is scheduled to be held from 6th June to 5th July in which 24 teams are participating in the competition which is 6 more than previous tournaments.

Hosts Canada will face China PR in the opening match of competition at Commonwealth stadium.
