ICC World Cup 2019: Ganguly predicts India, Pakistan, Australia, England as semifinalists

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has predicted his four semifinalists as he picks India, Australia, Pakistan and England to play the semi-finals of 2019 cricket world cup starting from 30th May. According Dada, India will be favorite to win 12th edition of International Cricket Council World Cup.

“My pick for the four semifinalists spot would be India, Australia, England and Pakistan. India are one of the title-contenders of course,” said Sourav Ganguly who was skipper of 2003 world cup finalist team India.

On the format of 2019 world cup, Ganguly said that it would be competitive tournament as knockout teams will have to play every team in the round robin stage and all playing ten teams are not easy to beat.

“It’s going to be one of the most keenly contested World Cups. Indian team is so strong that in any tournament they will be favourites. This World Cup will probably be the best format.

The best four teams will reach the semi-finals playing all the teams. There are no easy teams,” Dada added.

Old Trafford and Edgbaston to host both semi-final matches of 2019 world cup on 9 and 11 July meanwhile final is scheduled to take place on July 14 at Lord’s.
