Men In Blue have defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs in their second last league match of 2019 cricket world cup to enter knockouts of the tournament. Rohit Sharma was announced as the Man of The Match for his 4th century in this year’s ICC world cup. India has become 2nd team after Australia to qualify for semifinals.
Winning the toss, India chose to bat first and inform Indian opener Rohit Sharma produces another hundred of this world cup to set good platform for upcoming batsmen in the middle order. Rahul and Rohit added 180 runs for the first wicket partnership which was broken in the 30th over. However after that Men In Blue couldn’t make most out of the brilliant start and team managed to put 314 on the board.
At one time, India was looking to score at least 350 runs but failed to do so as Mustafizur Rahman took 5-wicket haul. In the chase of 315 target, whole Bangladeshi team all out in 48 overs and they were short by 28 runs from the victory.
Jasprit Bumrah was the star for Men In Blue as he took 4 wickets to break batting line-up of Bangladeshi team. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was also sensational with his bowling skills as he dismissed top three batsmen Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan to ensure Bangladesh would not chase the target.
Shakib Al Hasan was terrific with the bat once again as he was leading scorer in the side with 66 runs.
