South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy has been announced Delhi Daredevils new captain for 2015 Indian Premier League tournament beginning from 8 April. Proteas T20 Captain Duminy joined Delhi Daredevils last year and played some valuable innings in that edition.

JP Duminy was happy after his announcement of being DD side in the eighth edition of IPL. He said, “I’m grateful for the support and belief from the franchisee. It’s an absolute privilege to lead such a talented mix of players. I am excited about the season ahead and sincerely hope, we will be able to turn around the fortunes of Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming IPL season.”

Delhi Daredevils coach and former South African star Gary Kirsten also mentioned that Duminy is a perfect choice to give such big responsibility. Kirsten said, “JP (Duminy) is the right choice to lead the team for the upcoming season.

DD to play their opening match of IPL 2015 on 9 April against Chennai Super Kings.
