The 8th edition of Indian Premier League has been scheduled to play from 8 April to 24 May 2015 just after the completion of 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. Kolkata Knight Riders will be the defending champions in 2015 IPL season as they won last Indian premier league edition by defeating Kings XI Punjab in the final. A total of 8 teams are participating in IPL-8.

There are 60 matches have been scheduled to be played throughout the league.

Players Auction

Before the starting of 2015 IPL auction there was trading window for the franchises to retain players. In the trading window a total of 123 players were retained by eight teams franchise for IPL-8 and 5 players were traded across the teams.

All 8 participating team owners have a total purse of 63 crore rupees for the Indian Premier League 2015 auction. Retained players salaries are included in this amount.

IPL auction 2015 is scheduled for 16 February at Bengaluru. It will take place in ITC Gardenia from 9:30. Sony Six HD and Sony Six channels to telecast IPL auction live and you can watch live streaming on iplt20.com.

Eden Gardens, Kolkata is awarded to host inaugural and final match of 2015 Indian Premier League on 8 April and 24 May respectively. There are 12 venues that will host IPL 8.

Fixtures

Indian Premier League governing council has announced IPL 8 full schedule and time table on 11 February. In the opening match of tournament defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Mumbai Indians on 8 April at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Eden Gardens to host IPL 2015 final match on 24 May.
