The test format of cricket is one of the most testing forms of the game. Most youngsters dream of proving themselves in front of large crowds in this format as it will establish their place in the batting order. But the problems with test match which include the length of the game, makes it difficult for batsmen to score freely in the latter half of the match. Kumara Sangakkara- 12 centuries
The south paw from Sri Lanka is arguably the most stylish player from the island. He combines the elegance with strength and consistency and this has made him the No.1 batsmen in the world in the ICC rankings many times. He has scored 12 centuries in the third innings of a test match most of which helped Sri Lanka win or draw the game. He is a one of a kind batsmen and Sri Lanka will find it hard to replace him.
Alastair Cook- 11 centuries
The England test skipper is one of the most patient and sound test batsmen in the present era. He exudes confidence in every innings and makes sure that he never throws his wicket away. He has scored 11 test centuries in the 3rd innings of the game. This shows that the player is capable of playing huge innings even in unfavorable conditions.
Sachin Tendulkar/Matthew Hayden/Jacques Kallis- 10 centuries
The Master Blaster from India has been a huge run scorer in both the ODI and the test formats of the game and is the highest run getter in the history of cricket.
Hayden is one of the hardest hitters of the ball and has been one of the most successful openers to have played for the Australian team. His innings have given Australia a great start on many occasions that will go a long way in deciding the outcome of the game.
One of the best all rounder in the game, Kallis who has been a great servant for South African cricket has always been a prolific run getter. He had a very good technique and made it hard for the bowlers to maintain a rhythm so as to trouble him.

Hashim Amla/Allan Border- 9 centuries
The highest run getter in the 2012, Amla is one of the most talented players in the start studded South African squad. His patience and the ability to put the bad ball away even while in a defensive mind set makes him a dangerous player in the format.
One of the most successful captains for Australia, Border still holds the record for the most consecutive test appearances at 153. This shows his dedication towards the game. Border was a fierce striker of the ball and was a really good batsman in all conditions.

Martin Crowe/Mark Taylor- 8 centuries
The Wisden cricketer of the year in 1995, Crowe was a prolific batsman for the black caps. He could play all the shots in the world and it made it look very easy while playing them. Though his career was hampered by injuries, he is still one of the best players to have played for the New Zealand national team.
A masterful opener and also a captain for the Australian team in the early 1990’s, Taylor was a treat to watch whenever he came onto bat. He is tactically astute and has one of the best cricketing brains in the world. His composure is next to none and he has played some very important innings for Australia in his prime.
