Nadine Kessler wins FIFA Women’s World Player of the year 2014

Germany Women’s football player Nadine Kessler has won FIFA Women’s World Player of The Year award at 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or. Nadine gets 17.52 % votes in her favor to claim the Best FIFA Woman of the Year 2014 award at the Gala. She plays for VFL Wolfsburg club as well.

Nadine Kessler was not in control as she heard that she has won FIFA Women’s world player of the year trophy. She took few minutes to calm down and take relief. She said this award is dedicated to my team-mates who helped me to reach at this. Without them its not possible for me to get such an honor.

Kessler said, “I can’t think about anything at the moment and my whole body is tingling. The moment has left me totally overwhelmed and I’ll have to calm down and let it sink in first. It’s a reward for hard work, good performances and a good development track. I know it’s a trophy for individuals, but I’d never have won it without my team-mates.”

She also mentioned that she never dreamed of winning such kind of award. She always wanted to play good football.

This moment is like completion of a dream without even imagining about it.

“I didn’t even dare dream of accolades like this. I wanted to play my football, be successful and give it my best shot.

But as I say, I’d never even bothered to dream that something like this might come of it all,” she added.

Brazil’s Marta and United States’s Abby Wambach secured 2nd and 3rd position.
