Rafael Nadal wins his 4th US Open title defeating Daniil Medvedev

33-year old Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal has claimed his 19th grand slam title on Sunday when he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final of 2019 US Open championship men’s singles event. Rafael Nadal beat Medvedev by 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4 to win his fourth US Open. Previously he won the crown in 2010, 2013 and 2017.

US Open 2019 final winner match took 4 hours and 51 minutes to decide the champion of tournament. It wasn’t an easy journey in the final for Nadal as Russian star Daniil played some energetic and amazing tennis after losing first two sets. He forced the match to go into the fifth set which was eventually won by Spanish star.

“You need to suffer on court. You need to pass through these moments to be at your full confidence,” Rafa said after winning 4th US Open trophy.

Nadal termed this final as the “An Amazing Final” and “Emotional One” during the presentation ceremony. He also praised 23-year old Medvedev for his brilliant fought on the court and efforts he put. 19th grand slam winner also congratulates and wishes all the best Medvedev and his entire team for the future.

Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer are the five times winners of US Open Tennis championship and Rafael Nadal is eager to come New York next year in 2020 to win the tournament and create history.
