The final draw for 2015 FIFA U-20 world cup has been announced today at SKYCITY Convention Centre. United States under-20 team is placed in group A along with hosts New Zealand. Debutant Myanmar is also drawn in group A of tournament. In the opening game New Zealand to take on Ukraine on 30 may, 2015 at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland.
Another debutant team in FIFA U-20 world cup Fiji is placed in group F along with Germany, Uzbekistan and Honduras. Fiji will play their opening match of under-20 world cup against Germany on 1 June, 2015 at Christchurch Stadium.
The under-20 world cup is not a small competition as some popular football world players like Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and many more had played u-20 world cup in past to make themselves prepare. FIFA Vice-President Jeffrey Webb also reflected that it’s going to be great tournament.
Jeffrey Webb said, “Several of the players who have starred in previous FIFA U-20 World Cups played at last year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil, such as James Rodriguez and Paul Pogba.”
“No doubt we will see more World Cup stars discovered here in a New Zealand in a few months’ time. This is a wonderful competition that inspires many youngsters, both boys and girls alike, to play the game and to follow football clubs.”
