5 Reasons why England may win Ashes 2015 trophy

5 Reasons why England may win 2015 Ashes series.

Ashes 2015 is few months away and experts have already started to tag Australia as the favorites. This is a result of the combination of their recent form and their previous encounter, when England was whitewashed in Australia. But England is a different side when they play at home. So, here we look at 5 reasons on why England can defeat Australia this time around and regain the Ashes.

5 Reasons why England may win 2015 Ashes series.

Ben Stokes

He was the only English player who provided some sort of resistance last time around. Leading into this Ashes, he is in rich vein of form and has proved it in the ongoing series against New Zealand. He was dropped from the English side of the World Cup 2015 and this Ashes might well bring out his response to the selectors.

James Anderson

Well when you talk of England’s chances, his performance will always be a major factor. Maybe, he was not upto his best in Australia but this is England and there’s no one better than Anderson in exploiting the conditions. English conditions and Anderson, and no doubt the new ball will move both ways and Australia’s top order will be tested.

Moeen Ali

Someone who was nowhere in the contention for the previous Ashes, but has now become an integral part of the English Test side. He not only has answered the critics who called him a part time spinner, but has also added extra stability to the English lineup with his batting. He bats at No. 8 and is a way better batsman than that but this just gives England the depth in the batting. Though, he is nowhere near Swann, but has been among the few positives England has had in the recent past.

Mitchell Johnson

Surely, this man is the father of comebacks. He was nowhere near to his best before he terrorised the entire English line up, but again he seems to have lost his form. Add the fact that Johnson is an exponent of pace and bounce and less swing and Australian pitches provide him that assistance. England is a different story, where pitches will provide movement than pace. So, the main difference between England and Australia last time around may not be able to repeat the same.

Home Conditions

When you are losing an away game, the worst that can happen to you is when you are doing it infront of Australian fans. They are like typical Australian cricketer, sledging the players whenever they get a chance. But let’s talk about some on field advantage which England has. Australian players always like pace on the ball, it comes well on to the bat and when it is not swinging a lot, they always have have an upper hand.

In England, the ball will move and the conditions will suit England.

Their batsman are used to such conditions, and Australians will find it tough to adjust to it, especially with Australians having many batsman who just to go after everything.  Someone like Warner, Watson and Haddin will really find it tough.

Whatever the result be, but Ashes 2015 will be much more competitive than the one in 2013( 2nd one) and maybe England repeats Ashes 2005. What do you think, can England win Ashes 2015?
