Junaid Khan to miss 2 ODIs series against New Zealand 2015

Sad news for Pakistan cricket team just before few weeks of world cup as fast bowler Junaid Khan has been injured during a practice session here in Lahore. It is expected that he’ll be fit before 2015 world cup begins but he is not going to take part in a two ODI match series against Kiwi team in New Zealand. Pakistan cricket board confirmed his injury by a press release.

Junaid Khan ruled out from New Zealand ODI series 2015.

PCB said, “On re-examining Junaid’s condition, Pakistan’s physiotherapist Brad Robinson and PCB’s head of medical & sports sciences Dr. Sohail Saleem concurred that he had not recovered sufficiently from the traction injury of the nerve in the posterior right thigh and recommended recuperation at the NCA. Subsequently the left-arm fast bowler was withdrawn from the New Zealand tour.”

Bilawal Bhatti will be replacing Junaid in Pakistan squad. If Junaid fails to prove his fitness before world cup, Bilawal will join Pakistan’s 15-man team in Australia/New Zealand.

Moin Khan said, “If Junaid recovers fitness, he will join the World Cup squad. The chairman [Shaharyar Khan] has considered and approved the request of the skipper Misbah-ul-Haq to include Bilawal Bhatti in the team under the condition that Bilawal Bhatti will play all scheduled matches in New Zealand.”

“The decision for his selection will be considered in accordance with his performance as to whether he may continue or be replaced. It is, however, clarified that if Junaid Khan regains fitness, he will join the World Cup squad as announced on January 7, 2015,” he added.
