“CA committed to deliver a full and compelling summer of cricket,” CA spokesman

Cricket Australia (CA) official broadcaster Channel 7 threatened this morning to board for terminating contract over less number of matches and no proper scheduling for men’s and women’s international FTPs. To counter this, CA released a press in which they assured the broadcaster by saying that they’re working best to make things better in this COVID-19 environment.

ICC T20 World Cup 2020 was major tournament this summer in Australia but it is postponed to Coronavirus outbreak around the globe. And then there are several protocols to be followed by players and supporting staff to play cricket in such pandemic situation.

“Cricket Australia greatly values the relationship with our broadcast partners. While disappointed by comments made in the media today, CA remains committed to delivering a full and compelling summer of cricket,” a spokesperson quoted as saying by CA in a statement.

“With the Australian men’s team having already landed safely in England for their return to international cricket (from next week), we want to reassure fans here in Australia and around the world that we are well advanced in delivering our home summer of cricket.”

Australia men’s senior team is in England to play twenty20 and ODI series and they’re scheduled to play Afghanistan in December. Australian players would be playing in Dream11 IPL starting from 19 September.

So after this, they have to play India too in December-January which is a high competitive series.

“We continue to navigate our way through the challenges presented by COVID-19 with the support of all our partners, including governments, sponsors, bio-security experts, State and Territories Associations and the Australian Cricketers’ Association.”

CA spokesperson also mentioned that KFC Big Bash League would also get underway but things should be cleared from state governments as well. There are several restrictions regarding COVID-19 in the country and players will have to deal with that.
