Scotland and Afghanistan are going to face each other in the 17th match of 2015 cricket world cup on 26 February at Dunedin. The match has been scheduled to begin at 11:00 local time and 22:00 GMT. The two associate teams will be looking to register their first victory in the tournament as both teams lost their opening matches of 2015 world cup.

Afghanistan got major setback before Thursday ’s match against Scotland as Mirwais Ashraf has been ruled out from 2015 world cup due to injury in the last game against Sri Lanka. Aftab Alam is expected to return in the playing xi for tomorrow’s match. Though Afghanistan lost both opening matches of world cup but they played good cricket.

In previous match against Sri Lanka at one stage Afghani team was ahead in the match and could win as well. Even hero of that match Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene also praised Afghanistan after the match. This is Afghanistan’s debuting world cup and they must be looking to taste the sweetness of victory first time in the cricket’s mega event.

Afghanistan team needs to work on their batting a bit as they lacked in previous. Mohammad Nabi has to bat really well along with inform batsmen Nawroz Mangal, Stanikzai and Ahmadi. Zadran guys neet to take wickets at the front of the innings to put pressure on Scottish side.

Scotland performance isn’t so bad in the competition so far though they couldn’t win the first two game of world cup 2015. The problem with Scottish side is that they are not too much experienced side in front of teams like England or Sri Lanka. But tomorrow they will be facing a team like their same level i.e. Afghanistan.

Preston Mommsen has to bat really well if Scotland wants to make impact in the match-17 against Afghanistan. He is not in good form so far but he is having good opportunity in tomorrow’s game. The bowling was lacking in previous match against England as bowlers failed to take wickets at the front which resulted 172 runs opening partnership between Bell and Moeen Ali. Hence bowlers need to take wickets at the beginning of match.
