Tennis: Australian Open 2016 Prize Money hike at 10%

The prize money for 2016 Australian Open has got an increment of 10% from the previous 2015 edition. A total prize money for 104th Australian Open is AUS$44 Million which is four million dollars more than the last season. The increase is made on the basis of the fact that all four Grand Slams will have to enhance the prize award every year.

Winners of both Men’s and Women’s Singles will receive a handsome prize money of 3.85 million Australian dollar each. Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are the defending champions at Australian Open 2016 in Men’s and women’s singles event respectively. On the other hand Doubles event winners in Women’s and Men’s will bag 650,000 million AUS dollar.
