The 2nd round draw for FIFA World Cup 2022 has taken place and Indian national football team is placed in Group-E along side AFC champions Qatar, Bangladesh, Oman and Afghanistan teams. The qualifying matches are scheduled to play from 5 September 2019 to 9 June 2020 on home and away basis.
Blue Tigers to meet Oman in their opening match of qualifying fixture meanwhile they’ll be up against Asian Champion Qatar on 10th September. Team to play Bangladesh on 15th October whereas Indian side to travel Afghanistan for 14th November game.
India to play their last match of 2nd round on June 9, 2020 against Afghanistan on home soil. And if Indian team manages to top the group, they’ll qualify for the third round meanwhile if they get second spot, they have to maintain themselves in the best 4 runners-up in the group of 8 pools.
