IPL 2020 to be played in October-November instead of T20 World Cup
The 13th edition of Vivo Indian Premier League is very much possible to take place in October and November cricket calendar which is originally scheduled for ICC T20 World Cup. All this is happening because of Coronavirus pandemic which has either postponed or suspended many sporting events including Olympics, Wimbledon, IPL and many more.
In a recent interview of BCCI Apex council member Anshuman Gaekwad to PTI-Bhasha raised doubts over hosting the men’s twenty20 world cup. He enlighted that IPL 2020 is not sure as well to happen in October-Noember as all depends on the situation in country.
“I have my doubts that T20 WC will be held this year. About IPL, we cannot think of just now. It will depend on Indian conditions and the window is only during this T20 WC which is October-November. If the World Cup gets cancelled or postponed, then only IPL can happen but then also it depends on what the conditions are in India,” Anshuman Gaekwad said.
Former Indian cricketer also said that is would not be easy for players to play in empty stadiums. The fact is players are not used to play like this.

They love to have crowd that cheers them in every moment of the game.
“Cricket is not going to be the same, the approach would be different. There will be no crowd in the stadiums. Cricketers are not used to playing in empty stadiums. It will be a very difficult aspect of playing new kind of cricket,” he added.
ICC T20 world cup is scheduled to play in Australia from 18 October to 15 November meanwhile IPL was originally scheduled to kick off on 29 March. But it couldn’t happen till now.
So BCCI still wants to make money
