Pak vs SL 2019: Pakistan announced 16-member ODI squad

Pakistan Cricket Board have revealed the 16-member squad that will take on Sri Lanka in home series One-Day internationals. Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan are making comeback into national side after a long time. Safaraz Ahmed will be leading the side.

Iftikhar Ahmed has been included in the side for his brilliant run in domestic run and good performances in the Pakistan cup.

“Iftikhar has 51 average in List A cricket, he has been a top performer in the last three-to-four seasons. He is, I think, our fifth bowler, and you can utilise him. His fitness is excellent, he is a mature player, he is a three-dimensional. Fielding-wise [he is] good, and he can do bowling, he can bat, he has 91 strike-rate,” Coach Misbah said.

Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are not part of the Men in Green squad that will play ODIs versus Sri Lanka starting from 27 September in Karachi. Shaheen Afridi is not included in the team as of he is recovering from dengue meanwhile Hasan Ali is suffering from back spasms.

Sarfaraz Ahmed (Captain), Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abid Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan Shinwari, Wahab Riaz, Imad Wasim.
