Portugal creates history as they have defeated hosts France in the final of UEFA European Championship 2016 to claim their first ever Euro Cup trophy. However team didn’t lose their hopes and substitute Eder hit the goal. Eder couldn’t make to the starting XI for the match but he was introduced as the substitution of Sanches in the 79th minute.

The star forward dedicated this win to his country and all the Portugal fans. “It was not the final I wanted but I am very happy. It is a trophy for all Portuguese, for all immigrants, all the people who believed in us so I am very happy and very proud,” Cristiano added.

Pepe said, “It was tough to lose our main man. The man who could at any moment score a goal. He could make the difference but we were warriors on the pitch. We said we would win it for him and we managed to do that.”

With this win, Portugal has qualified for FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 which is set to be played in Russia. This is the first occasion when Portugal will play Confederations Cup.
