Qatar football association (QFA) have officially announced that they’ve bid to host the 19th edition of AFC Asian Cup tournament in 2027. The bid process for 2027 event was closed on Wednesday, hence QFA revealed that they’re eager to host Asia’s top football event.
Apart from Qatar, there are four more football federations which have shown interest to host the 2027 Asian Cup. India, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan have submitted bids to Asian Football Confederation. The AFC will announce the tournament host in 2021.
Qatar Football Association secretary general Mansoor Al Ansari was pleased to announce that federation is positive and determine to organize major soccer tournaments after hosting gala 2022 FIFA world cup.
“We present Qatar’s bid to win the rights to host the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. Our bid confirms the great desire to follow major sporting events, which Qatar is conducting with great successes for over two decades now. Qatar’s next big assignment is the 2022 FIFA World Cup and we are preparing well for the event,” Mansoor Ali said in a statement.
Qatar is preparing well for the 22nd edition of world cup and they’re ahead with their preparations. This makes sense and their bid a positive mark to host 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
