Wahab Riaz shines in Pakistan’s First win at world cup 2015

Pakistan cricket team has finally succeed to register their first win in 2015 cricket world cup as they defeat Zimbabwe by 20 runs at Brisbane. In this victory Pakistan all-rounder shines as first he made 54 crucial runs in 46 balls while batting and then he took 4 wickets to guide PAK open their account in 11th ICC world cup.

This was a crucial and must win game for Pakistan in the tournament as they lost previous two matches very badly and were at the bottom in the points table before the match. After winning toss Pakistan chose to bat first and got bad start as they lost 2 wickets on just 4 runs score in four overs. Misbah Ul Haq shuffled himself up the order and came to bat at number 4.

Misbah and Haris Sohail tried to build partnership and succeed as they added 54 runs for third wicket but it was very slow innings from both batsmen. Haris dismissed after scoring 27 in 44 balls. After this Captain Misbah and Umar Akmal added 69 runs for 4th wicket partnership and Akmal was dismissed in 34th over after making 33.

Misbah Ul Haq hits fifty and made 73 in 121 balls before getting out.

At one stage it seemed that Pakistan wouldn’t past 200 but Wahab Riaz hitting at the end helped PAK to reach at challenging total of 235 in 50 overs. Tendai Chatara took 3 wickets for Zimbabwe.

In the chase of 236 runs target Zimbabwe didn’t get good start and lost two wickets on 22. Masakadza and Taylor took responsibility and built a partnership of 52 runs for third wicket. Irfan dismissed Masakadza and gave relief to Pakistan as he was in form batsman. Taylor hit brilliant fifty but didn’t finish match for Zimbabwe.

Eventually Zimbabwe had good opportunity to beat Pakistan but they gave-up and PAK won the match to keep their hopes alive in the ICC world cup 2015. Wahab Riaz was awarded Man of The Match for his all-rounding performance.
