In August-September 2016, BCCI claimed that there was three time budget set for 2017 Champions Trophy that of ICC World Twenty20 2016.
“The upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales from 1-18 June carries a total prize money of $4.5 million with the winner of the eight-team tournament taking home a cheque of $2.2 million,” ICC said in a statement.

Winner of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will earn $2.2 Million meanwhile runner-up to get $1.1 Million. Third place and fourth place teams will get $450,000 each while third team of the group will be awarded $90,000 each.
