The defending champions of 2014-15 big bash league Perth Scorchers to take on Adelaide Strikers in their title defending campaigns first match. ADS vs PRS game has been scheduled to play from 16:10 local time in the WACA ground in Perth. Adam Voges will be leading Perth Scorchers in BBL 04 whereas Adelaide Strikers are playing under Johan Botha’s captaincy.

This is the fifth match of big bash fourth edition between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers on 22 December, 2014.

ADS had great opening match against Melbourne Stars in which they registered comfortable win of 8 wickets. Tim Ludeman was the star in that match as he scored unbeaten 92 and Strikers will be looking to see such kind of innings from him in Monday’s game.

Perth Scorchers will be desperate to start the league with a win. But before starting of the match PRS has bad news as star spinner Brad Hogg has been ruled out from the first game due to hamstring. Coach Justin Langer said, “Unfortunately, the truth is he has a little bit of a tight hamstring. He’s going to miss out this game and that’s disappointing, because we know the incredible impact he’s had on the Scorchers. With his left-arm spinners, he’s a very important part of our squad.”

Adelaide Strikers have also lost pace bowler Shaun Tait before the match. Tait is also facing the same injury as Hogg.

In all previous three seasons of big bash Perth Scorchers appeared in the final and last year they clinched the title. Kieron Pollard, Yasir Arafat, Michael Carberry and Botha are the international overseas players in the game.
