Ludeman’s innings wastes Pietersen fifty in inaugural of BBL 04

Adelaide Strikers beat Melbourne Stars in the inaugural match of big bash league 2014-15 today. Tim Ludeman was the star of the match for Adelaide Strikers and his 92 runs not out innings wasted the 66 runs inning of Kevin Pietersen. Adelaide won by 8 wickets in the first game of BBL 04.

In the opening game of big bash 04 Melbourne Stars won the toss and elected to bat first against Adelaide Strikers.

After winning the toss Melbourne Stars didn’t get a quick start in the first match of big bash league fourth season. Captain Cameron White opened the innings with Luke Wright. English batsman Luke Wright started to play aggressively and hit some brilliant boundaries in the starting phase of innings. White couldn’t make big innings and was out at 6 runs individual score.

Kevin Pietersen made 66 in debutant match of BBL 04.

Captain’s dismissal was huge blow for Melbourne stars but the next man was England one more stylish batsman Kevin Pietersen. Now two English batsmen started to hit ball all over the park and dominating the bowlers. Luke Wright played a valuable innings of 45 runs in 37 balls with 7 boundaries before returning to pavilion.

KP was in good nick in his KFC t20 debutant game and hit 4 big sixes in his 66 runs innings. He hit only two fours before getting out. No other batsman from Melbourne Stars couldn’t reach to two digit score. At the end of 20 overs Melbourne Stars managed to put respectable total of 148 for the loss of 7 wickets. Richardson and Laughlin took 2-2 wickets each for Adelaide Strikers.

In the chase of 149 runs, Adelaide Strikers got perfect start. Openers Simmons and Tim Ludeman built a match winning partnership for team. Both batsmen started to hit big boundaries of Adelaide Oval right from the start of innings.

Ludeman was looking more aggressive than Simmons as he hit 5 sixes and 9 fours in his not out 92 runs innings in 44 balls.

Craig Simmons also made valuable contribution as he made quick 30 runs in 15 balls in which two big sixes included. After Simmons wicket Travis Head joined Ludeman and took team towards the victory. Just at the winning line Head got out. Adelaide Strikers won the match in 12.3 overs. For his awesome innings Tim Ludeman declared man of the match.
