Hero hockey India League (HHIL) 2015 Teams Squad Declared

The third edition of Hockey India League 2015 has been scheduled to be played from 22 January to 22 February. Inaugural game will be hosted at the Kalinga Stadium of Bhubneshwar between the teams Kalinga Lancers and Ranchi Rays. The final match has been slated to be hosted in New Delhi’s Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. HIL has finally announced the schedule of tournament.

Delhi Waveriders have been declared to be the defending champions in 2015 hockey India League. Sardar Singh, the captain of Delhi team has stated that his team is the defending champion and will be seriously looking forward to retain the title. He also guaranteed that none of the teams will leave any stone unturned to give their best.

The captain has also said that the team will aim for the semi final spots.

The debutant teams for Hockey India League 2015 are the Ranchi Rays and Dabang Mumbai.  Team for Ranchi is owned by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Declaration has been made for 6 squads of HIL 2015:

The six franchises which include the following listed below:

  1. Delhi Waveriders
  2. Uttar Pradesh Wizards
  3. Kalinga Lancers
  4. Jaypee Punjab Warriors
  5. Dabang Mumbai (new franchise)
  6. Ranchi Rays (new franchise)

The new franchisees bid their best numbers so as to acquire players for their personal squad. They also wanted to guarantee the best amalgamation for their teams. Many players including Jamie Dwyer, Sardar Singh, Moritz Fuerste, Mandeep Singh, and many more have been roped into the league. Combined efforts have been made to make the league a great success.

Uttar Pradesh Wizards have recently picked up around 4 different players. The most prominent among these players is P R Sreejesh, the national team goalkeeper of India. He is the vice-captain for the team.
