Melbourne Stars batsman Peter Handscomb has slammed his first twenty20 hundred against Perth Scorchers in the fourth edition of Big Bash League tournament. He scored 103 runs in 64 balls with six 4s and five 6s. Handscomb completed maiden t20 century by hitting six on Andrew Tye’s third ball of the final over here at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Peter Handscomb winning knock guide Melbourne Stars to win the match by 3 wickets. At one stage Melbourne Stars were struggling and almost out from the game. But Handscomb’s inning took Stars at winning note. In the chase of 180 runs target MLS lost three quick wickets in power play and was struggling at 28. Then Quieny and Handscomb built partnership and took Melbourne into the game.
Melbourne Stars lost 5 wickets on 113 runs in 15 overs. The target was far away but Peter played superb knock to take the team at winning end. In the last over 12 runs were required to win the game and Handscomb done it successfully by hitting two in the over. Though Perth Scorchers lost the game they qualified for the semi-finals.
