Argentina beat Venezuela to enter Copa America 2016 semi-final

Argentina have defeated Venezuela national football team in the third quarter-final of Copa America Centenario on Saturday to through semis. Argentina skipper Lionel Messi led the side towards big win of 4-1 over Venezuela in a crucial knockout game. With this victory, Argentina are set to take on United States in the semi-final on 21st June.

It was really a great win for tournament favorites and Higuain, Messi and Lamela were the scorers for Argentine tonight. Gonzalo Higuain was the first scorer of the match as he gave Arg lead in the 8th minute of match before scoring second goal of the day in 28th minute.

Till the first half of match, Argentina was leading with 2-0 and were dominating Venezuela side. Although ARG defence had some issues during the match but strikers led the side. In the second half of quarterfinal, football world sensational Messi scored his first goal of the match in 60th minute. With this goal, he equalize the 54 goals record of Gabriel Batistuta for Argentina.

Messi had brilliant match as he had one goal and two assists in the match. Jose Salomon Rondon scored the only goal for Venezuela in the 70th minute of the match to give some hope to the side to get back in the match. But Erik Lamela vanished their hopes as he scored in the next moment of the match to give Argentina winning 4-1 lead in the quarter-final.

Argentina will now be playing USA in the first semi-final of Copa America 2016 on June 21 at Houston.
