Kiwi spinner Mark Craig believes that New Zealand is ready to face England in their home for upcoming test match series. Mark also thinks that it will not be easy for team to beat home team as they know conditions very well and will play according that.
Craig said, “I know England are going to be very, very tricky to beat over there in their home conditions, so we’re going to have to be on point to beat them. We’re obviously going over there to win, so we’re just doing what we need to make that happen.”
The spinner is included in the 15-members New Zealand squad for two tests match series. First cricket test match between New Zealand and England is scheduled to start on 21st May, 2015 at Lord’s in London. Craig mentioned that player are prepared enough for the series and desperate to get on the field to face English side.
‘All the boys are a bit sick of playing in the nets and are looking forward to getting out in the middle against the county sides, building up to the first Test at Lord’s.”
“It’s a similar role to playing at Hagley and the two Tests against Sri Lanka we played (in New Zealand). It’s a supporting role, about tying up and end for the big boys running down the other end.”
Blackcaps will play Twenty20s and ODI series as well in the England. As per the reports Duke ball will be used in the 2015 England vs New Zealand series and it is quite difficult to spin that ball. On this Craig mentioned that it doesn’t matter for him and rest Kiwi bowlers which ball is begin used to play. We have capabilities to bowl as per our strength and limitations with any kind of ball.
He said, “The Duke ball does make a difference for me, it’s obviously a lot different to the ones we use here at home. Luckily I had a crack over there last year playing some county stuff, so I’m a lot more used to bowling with them now. Tim (Southee) and Trent (Boult) could swing anything, they could swing a square ball.
