New Zealand qualify for cricket world cup final first time

New Zealand has defeated South Africa in the first semi-final of ICC world cup 2015 to reach at the final in history of cricket world cup. This is the first occasion when NZ side have reached to the world cup final and will face either Australia or India on 29 March. Grant Elliott was the hero in Blackcaps win as he scored unbeaten 84 in 73 balls and he was named Man of the Match.

Player of the Match Grant Elliott hit the winning six for Kiwis and confirmed their world cup final berth. In the last over of match New Zealand was needed 13 runs to win and world’s top bowler Dale Steyn was bowling that high drama over. But Steyn couldn’t stop those runs and Elliott sealed Blackcaps victory in this nail biting semifinal played at Eden park.

New Zealand got a target of 298 as per duckworth lewis method in 43 overs. They chased this total with a one ball remaining.
