SLC gets “very positive feedback” from the delegation that visited Lahore and Karachi few days back to see security measurements in the country. Sri Lanka cricket board is happy with the security arrangements and they can send their team to play test cricket in the country.
Ashley de Silva, Sri-Lanka cricket board CEO has said that they’ve received good feedback from the members visited Pakistan to inspect security and their report is positive. Now SLC will talk to PCB after consulting with Sri-Lankan government.
Sri Lanka was the last team that played test cricket in Pakistan in 2009 when their team was attacked by a terror group in Lahore. Since then no international team has visited Pakistan to play test cricket and it would be a huge occasion for PCB if SL comes.
Initially it was reported that both tests of Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan 2019 will be held Karachi and Lahore in October. But latest reports suggest that only one test will be played in the country. Test series against Sri Lanka will be Pakistan’s first series that comes under ICC World Test Championship.
