United States Soccer Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced the 23-men roster for the upcoming Saturday’s playoff match against Mexico. Winner of this match will seal his berth in FIFA Confederations Cup 2017.
Striker Aron Johannsson, midfielder Mix Diskerud, defenders Omar Gonzalez and John Brooks have been omitted from the squad due to certain injuries. The announced United States team is an experienced which is eyeing on Confederations Cup berth in Russia. Coach Klinsmann is quite confident about the team.
He said, “This roster is obviously full of experience. This is about having a group of players who understand exactly now what this is all about. This is about momentum. This is about high energy. This is about representing my country. This is about belief and a high-level of aggressiveness in a one-off game to beat Mexico and to get to the Confederations Cup. It’s a unique opportunity, and you have to embrace it and give everything you have.”
Fabian Johnson and DaMarcus Beasley have returned to the USA squad at the place of defenders Brooks and Gonzalez. Both players are returning from respective injuries hence it will be interesting to watch out how they play in this knockout match.
