Alipay to sponsor UEFA Euro 2020, 2024 and Nations League finals

Chinese payment and lifestyle platform Alipay has signed 8 years contract deal with UEFA to become sponsor of men’s national football team. The eight-year deal includes two UEFA European Championships in 2020 and 2024. Alipay will also sponsor UEFA Nations League Finals between 2018 and 2026. It’s a €200M/$230M sponsorship deal between two companies.

Alipay is operated by Ant Financial Services Group and now it will be digital sponsor for top European football events like UEFA Euro 2020 and 2024. The agreement was signed in Shanghai where UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and the Alibaba group’s executive chairman Jack Ma were present to fulfill the required documents.

“We are proud to announce this unique and groundbreaking partnership with Ant Financial and Alipay for UEFA’s national team competitions. Alipay is at the forefront of digital payments and in association with its global partners, Alipay has unique connections with over 900 million users. We believe the partnership will further innovate the way in which UEFA engages with football fans around the world,” UEFA President Ceferin quoted as saying by uefa.com.

According Ceferin, Alipay and UEFA to work close together to provide unique experience to millions of football fans during Euro 2020 which will be played across 12 hosting nations.

Also the digital platform to provide unique and amazing stuff to football fans for their respective teams and matches during Germany’s 2024 Euro football championship.
