Cricket Australia (CA) officials are set to visit Pakistan to review he security arrangements in the country to make sure if Australian team will travel Pakistan for two ODI matches of 5-game series. Pakistan is due to host Australia for 5 One-Day internationals and PCB is pushing hard to bring back international cricket to the nation.
Pakistan Cricket Board managing director Wasim Khan has been trying a lot to make sure the sport returns to nation. He along with PCB chairman Mani approached ACB to travel Pakistan for two One-Day matches in March. As per report in Sydney Morning Herald, CA officials to tour Pakistan and review the conditions and security arrangements for the players.
“We are in ongoing discussions with the PCB about the one-day tour in March next year. We recognise the PCB and the Pakistan government are taking every step to improve the security for touring cricket teams and we’ll continue discussions with the PCB, with the safety and security of Australian players and support staff being our number one priority,” an official from Cricket Australia said.
CA officials are expected to come Pakistan during PSL 2019 season when 8 matches of twenty20 league will be held in the country. Pakistan Super League fourth season’s last four league games to take place in Pakistan meanwhile all knockouts including final to be played in Karachi and Lahore.
“Yes, indications are very bright about Australia team’s plan to play a part of forthcoming One-Day series in Pakistan. They have planned to play at least two of the scheduled five matches in Pakistan. Rest is to be held in UAE,” a PCB official said in a report.
If Australian officials gets satisfied with the security arrangements, Australia cricket team to play two ODIs in Pakistan while three games to be held in UAE.
