In the 17th edition of Pan American Games, field hockey is one of the most vital sports of tournament. The 2015 Pan American Games hockey men’s competition is scheduled to take place from 14 to 25 July at Toronto in Canada. Argentina is the defending champion in men’s field hockey at Pan American Games 2015 as they defeated Canada by 3-1 in 2011 tournament.

There are 8 teams participating in this tournament. Winner of this 2015 Pan American Games men’s hockey competition will qualify for 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio.

Teams

Hosts Canada have qualified for the tournament automatically as they are hosting the competition. Rest seven teams various other qualification methods like 2 teams come from South American and Central American (Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago) and two teams come from Caribbean Games (Argentina, Chile). Three teams (United States, Brazil, Mexico) qualified from 2013 Men’s Pan American Cup.
