England to take on West Indies in ICC world cup 2015 practice match tomorrow on 9 February at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The match is scheduled to start at 14:30 local time.
Both West Indies and England will be looking to get practice enough before entering into main world cup event. Recently West Indies lost test series and ODIs against South Africa whereas England was defeated in the tri-series final. So both sides will be looking to get winning momentum from this world cup warm up match.
England’s top batting order is in good form that we saw in triangular series. Both Moeen Ali and Ian Bell played good innings in all matches especially against India. The middle order and lower order batting is a concern area for English side as players are failing to score runs. Gary Ballance and Alex Hales will have chance to bat on the tour for the first time.
Eoin Morgan needs to make some changes in the batting line-up and Gary Ballance and Hales are good options for him to make middle order strong.
West Indies are also facing same problem that England have as their middle order is also not making runs. At the top Gayle, Smith and Samuels are good enough to put pressure on the opponent but once again middle order is missing Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. Both these guys are not in the squad and current players Darren Bravo, Darren Sammy and Denesh Ramdin are not in good form. So these players need to play in warm-up matches.
Well discussing about playing 11 is not necessary as we all know that 15-members in a squad of a team can participate in the practice game. So let’s have a look at the full member squad for 2015 world cup of both these teams.
West Indies: Jason Holder (Captain), Marlon Samuels, Chris Gayle, Jerome Taylor, Darren Bravo, Andre Russell, Sheldon Cottrell, Darren Sammy, Jonathan Carter, Denesh Ramdin, Nikita Miller, Kemar Roach, Dwayne Smith, Sulieman Benn and Lendl Simmons.
England: Eoin Morgan (England), Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, James Tredwell, James Anderson, James Taylor, Gary Ballance, Joe Root, Ian Bell, Chris Jordan, Ravi Bopara, Alex Hales, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn and Jos Buttler.
The live telecast of WI vs ENG warm-up game can be watched on Star Sports. Broadcasters will not telecast rest practice matches of today like SA vs SL, NZ vs ZIM and PAK vs BAN.
