The countdown of eighth edition of Indian Premier League has begun as player auction date is announced. The 2015 IPL auction has been scheduled to organize on 16 February at ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. Auction will begin early in the morning at 9:30 AM.
Once again Richard Madley will be conducting the Indian Premier League auction, he has conducted all previous auctions of competition. He is a professional auctioneer from England. IPL Governing Council Chairman Ranji Biswal announced the beginning of IPL-8 countdown by declaring details of player auction.
Ranjib Biswal said, “The 2015 Pepsi IPL Player Auction will mark the beginning of the countdown to the eighth season of one of the most popular sporting events on the planet. The Auction promises to be eventful. The Franchises have returned to the drawing board, reworked plans and devised new strategies, over the previous few months. They will have the opportunity to bid for some of the biggest names in the game.”
In last season auction Yuvraj Singh got the highest bid in the auction as Royal Challengers bought him for 14 crores. This year along with Yuvraj Singh there are some other popular international players like Kevin Pietersen and Eoin Morgan are available in the auction.
