Porto vs Bayern Munchen UCL quarterfinal preview, predictions

FC Porto will be taking on Bayern Munchen in the quarter-final of UEFA Champions League 2014-15 at Estadio do Dragao. Ivan Marcano will not available for Porto in this match due to his suspension. Spaniard and Maicon are also out from this quarterfinal match and is expected that Bruno Martins Indi and Diego Reyes will replace them in Starting XI.

Though Porto have been unbeaten in previous 10 games of Champions League but they are still not too favorites against top class Bayern Munich side. Bayern Munchen are facing lots of injury issues and concerns with player fitness. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and David Alaba have been ruled out from quarter-finals due to their respective injuries.

Hence Bayern Mun will be highly depending German stars like Thomas Muller, Mario Gotze and Lahm. In an interview with UEFA.com Captain Philipp Lahm mentioned that his side favorite to win at Portuguese soil if they play attacking and don’t allow Porto footballers to create pressure.

He said, “We are confident enough to say that if we play our game, keep lots of possession and play attacking football, and don’t give our opponents many chances, then we will win.”

Germany’s Lahm also believes that FC Porto is dangerous side and they have good attacking players who can score at any moment.

Lahm said, “they’re a dangerous team, with a lot of quality in attack and fast and technically strong players in their squad. We are in the quarterfinals of the Champions League so there aren’t any easy teams any more.”
