Who took first test cricket hat-trick for India?

Taking hat-trick is special for a bowler and it becomes more amazing when it comes in longer format of the game test cricket. For India, Harbhajan Singh is the first bowler to take hat trick in tests. He achieved the feat against Australia during Border-Gavaskar series 2000-01.

The second test between India and Australia was taking place in Eden Gardens from 11 to 15 March 2001. In this historic test, Harbhajan Singh dismissed three Australian batsmen on consecutive balls.

Bhajji took crucial wicket of Ricky Ponting by dismissing him LBW. Then he got Adam Gilchrist in front of the stumps and umpire raised the finger. The third and hat-trick wicket was of Shaun Warner who was caught by Sadgopan Ramesh at the short leg. Thus Harbhajan became first Indian to take hat-trick in test cricket.
