National team also won 1950 FIFA world cup but that time Brazil hosted the prestigious football event.

Argentina hosted the 1978 FIFA world cup which they won by defeating Netherlands in the final. Argentina also won 1986 world cup which was hosted by Mexico. Country has been failing to bring FIFA world cup event after 1978 and would be desperate to bring it in 2030 which will mark 100-year anniversary of first competition.

Argentina President Macri said, “We have decided that our best opportunity is to jointly nominate ourselves as candidates.”

It is quite similar story for both Argentina and Uruguay in World Cup as both hosted pinnacle tournament once and won it on their home ground. Both nations are the two times FIFA World Cup champions. It will be interesting to find out whether they succeed to host the 2030 event or not. England also planning to bid for 100th event.

The next two world cups 2018 and 2022 are scheduled to be hosted in Russia and Qatar respectively.
