Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has dedicated his Asian Cup 2018 Gold medal to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who recently passe away at the age of 93. Bajrang became first Indian to win gold medal in this year’s Asian Games at Indonesia.
In an exciting final of 65-kg event, Bajrang defeated Japan’s Takatani Daichi by 11-8 to make India proud. After achieving the glory, Bajrang dedicates the gold to late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee via micro blogging site twitter.

Bajrang overcome Uzbekistan’s Sirojiddin Khasanov (13-3), Tajikistan’s Fayziev Abdulqosim (12-2) and Mongolia’s N Batmagnai Batchuluu (10-0) to reach gold medal bout in Asiads.
24-year old wrestler has already won three successive golds at CWG (Gold Coast), Tbilisi Grand Prix (Georgia) and Yasar Dogu International (Istanbul) before claiming victory at Asian Games.
Before this, India won first medal of 18th Asiads by Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela who won bronze in shooting event.
