Chile preliminary squad for 2015 Copa America

Hosts Chile has announced the preliminary 30-men roster for the forthcoming Copa America event beginning from 11 June, 2015. Chile never won this showpiece event though they appeared in the finals of 1955, 1956, 1979 and 1987. Chilean football team head coach Jorge Sampaoli released the primary squad containing European stars including Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Angelo Henriquez.

Chile is placed in the Group A of tournament and will be facing Ecuador in the opening match at Estadio Nacional, Santiago. Let’s have a look at the declared Chilean probable squad for Copa America 2015.

Goalkeepers: Claudio Bravo, Paulo Garcés, Johnny Herrera.

Defenders: Miiko Albornoz, Juan Cornejo, Mauricio Isla, Gonzalo Jara, Gary Medel, Eugenio Mena, José Rojas.

Midfielders: Marco Medel, Charles Aránguiz, Jean Beausejour, Fernando Meneses, Carlos Carmona, Marcelo Díaz, Matías Fernández, José Pedro Fuenzalida, Felipe Gutiérrez, Arturo Vidal, Rodrigo Millar, David Pizarro, Jorge Valdivia.

Forwards: Alexis Sánchez, Eduardo Vargas, Mark González, Ángelo Henríquez, Mauricio Pinilla, Junior Fernandes, Edson Puch.
