England have got only one world cup in the bag which was won in 1966 at home and since then team has been failing to reach even in the final of the championship. Major reason behind England’s downfall is giving too many chances to overrated footballers who failed to deliver and causing English federation financially as well.

Gareth Southgate, who is appointed manager of the national team till Qatar world cup, has got great opportunity to take team towards next step. He showed good gesture as coach and mentor of the team during 2018 world cup when England lost third place game versus Belgium. However he took team’s game from bottom to up and captain Harry Kane was amazing at the front.

Let’s talk about players who could be England’s roster for 2022 world cup.

Goalkeepers:

Everton’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is the front runner to be in the side as goal-keeper for Qatar world cup. He is not at the top with his form but there is a lot of time in world cup and he could do well as goalie for national team. His deputies could be Jack Butland from Stoke City and young star goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

Defenders:

Keiran Trippier and Trent Alexander-Arnold were exceptional in the Russia 2018 world cup though both of them were young footballers. By the time of Qatar 2022, these two would be major boost up for English team and will definitely be eager to play under experienced John Stones leadership in the defending position.

Harry Maguire, Eric Dier and Joe Gomez are in the line for selection and are expected to get ticket to the first Arab region world cup. Danny Rose would get too old to get the position at the left but Ben Chilwell is there to give England strength. Luke Shaw and Eric Dier will also be there if remain fit till soccer world cup 2022.

Midfielders:

Ireland’s Declan Rice will have responsibility in the center of midfield as he’ll be replacing Jordan Henderson who couldn’t make huge impact in Russia. Youngster Morgan Gibbs-White is going to be one of the crucial player for English team when he gets place in the roster which is just matter of time. Harry Winks is already included in the national side and he’s going to have third place mid-fielder.

Dele Alli, Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling are the top class players for respective teams in different leagues, and these three are set to be essential part of English squad. Jesse Lingard, Phil Foden and Mason Mount to make it cut to the squad as well.

Forwards

First choice would be non-other skipper himself Harry Kane for the striking position. Marcus Rashford and Callum Hudson-Odoi to be crucial for England to score goals and creating spaces and opportunities.
