Sorensen replaces Murtagh in Ireland’s world cup 2015 squad

2015 ICC world cup is near and injury hits to Ireland team as seam bowler Tim Murtagh has been ruled out from the tournament due to the injury. He has got fracture in the foot hence he won’t be able to take part in forthcoming world cup. Murtagh has been replaced by Max Sorensen who is also a medium pace bowler.

Max Sorensen replaced Tim Murtagh in Ireland 15 man squad for world cup 2015.

Ireland coach Phil Simmons said, “It is heart-breaking news for Tim so close to the World Cup and the squad and all staff at Cricket Ireland are thinking of him.”

“We are lucky that Max has been out here in Dubai with us as part of a group of fast-bowlers working with National Academy Manager Craig Hogan, and is well placed to join the squad straight away for what is a tough tournament ahead in Australia and New Zealand.”

Phil Simmons was feeling bad for Tim but unfortunately nobody can do anything in it. He has wished Tim Murtagh to get well soon and recover from injury. He said we are hoping to see him playing against England on 8 May.

“We wish Tim our very best and hope that he can get fully fit for the start of the county season and our ODI against England at Malahide on May 8.”

William Porterfield (capt), Andrew Balbirnie, Peter Chase, Alex Cusack, George Dockrell, Ed Joyce, Andrew McBrine, John Mooney, Kevin O`Brien, Niall O`Brien, Max Sorensen, Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson, Gary Wilson, Craig Young.
