Mutua Madrid Open 2015 women’s title defending champion Maria Sharapova was ruled out from the final battle of tournament. Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova beat Sharapova in the straight sets by 6-2, 6-4 to reach in the final. Maria didn’t think that she would loss semifinal clash against 29 rank player and was definitely expecting to retain crown.
2. Serena Williams
World Champion Serena Williams was one of the favorite player to win Mutua Madrid Open and the way she has played tennis throughout this year, is really amazing. She won 27 matches in a row this year but Serena lost 28th game of 2015 against fourth seed Petra Kvitova.

Czech Republic Petra Kvitova beat Serena in the semi-final match by 6-2, 6-3 which was really embarrassing result for American star.

Rafael Nadal was favorite to win Madrid Open consecutive third time when Roger Federer was sacked in the first round of competition.
