Algeria football federation has appointed former midfielder Djamel Belmadi as the head coach of national football team. Djamel will hold Algerian football coach position until 2022 FIFA World Cup as per signed 4-year contract with national federation FAF.
FAF chairman Mr. Khireddine Zetchi met Belmadi in Paris on August 1 to take final call on the appointment. Previously he coached Qatar national football side as well as several soccer clubs. Djamel Belmadi played for Green Team from 2000 to 2004 and captained the side for a while as well.
Djamel Belmadi will have the responsibility to take best out from the team when Algeria to start playing 2022 world cup qualification games. Algeria had brilliant run at the 2014 world cup where they succeed to the second round of championship.
